Chrissie Bainbridge

I moved with my family to Portchester 18 years ago having spent most of my life in Portsmouth, and I really love living here. Portchester has so much to offer, a great community spirit, a wonderful coastline and green spaces. 

I worked in the public transport industry for 40 years,  all across the south coast.  Having retired I spent some time enjoying travel, art, music and time with friends. 

I am a member of Portchester Community choir, volunteer at Woodsy’s Pantry and spent five years working part time in a local veterinary practice. 

I have been the councillor for Portchester East for the last two years and have so enjoyed meeting so many fabulous people and dealing with the issues that matter to you.  I am passionate about people, places and planet and want to see our historic village thrive.

Having lived in Portchester for over 22 years, I was lucky to marry my wife Kirsten in the wonderful church of St Mary’s. 

All of our three children went to school in Portchester and a lot of my family and friends live here. I was a special constable for 12 years and that has given me a clear insight in to engaging with people from all walks of life and understanding their concerns and f inding solutions.

I am a volunteer at Portchester ‘The Box’ youth club and enjoy working with young people, helping them develop confidence and social skills.

I am passionate about ecology and looking after our green spaces.  I am a member of Conserving Habitats in Portchester .

I work hard to progress on the matters you care about, such as the restoration of our war memorial. I would be delighted to serve as one of your local councillors and thank you for your support.
