Out and about at Portchester Market

13 Jun 2024

Bella and her Lib Dem Team had a great day out and about at Portchester Market being warmly welcomed by residents, stallholders and shop-owners around the precinct.

The difference that the Lib Dem Councillors are helping to make to Portchester Precinct after 10 years of continuously lobbying Hampshire County Council for remedial works is much appreciated by all residents and traders alike. Once complete, these works will make the precinct a safer and more welcoming place to visit.

A warm welcome from Portchester shop keepers

An incredible array of family-run businesses from the haberdashery to the hardware shop, the bakery, butcher, cafes and more, plus the weekly stallholders are vital to the lifeblood of Portchester Precinct. However, these hardworking retailers continue to face relentless rises in energy costs, input prices and wider cost of living pressures: issues that urgently need addressing.

The Lib Dems are the party to support small business owners:

✅Reform business rates

✅Boost investment in local high streets

✅Windfall taxes on energy companies
