Tories Block Better Housing and Greener Energy

- Firstly, we proposed investing in production of a 5-year plan for increased social housing with a view to creating more truly affordable housing units.
- Secondly, we also found the funding to restore the original plan for solar energy generation on the canopies at the new Osborn Road surface car park.
Neither proposal would cause the local tax burden to rise – but both were both trashed by Fareham Tories who think only of cutting services.
Speaking as leader for Liberal Democrat Councillors, Cllr. Bainbridge did not hesitate to place on record a litany of Tory failures. Chrissie’s speech to the Council not only nailed the dire state of Fareham’s finances (relatively worse than ‘Bankrupt Birmingham’) but also underscored unnecessary and ineffective costs of the County’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
